11/28/2021–Keeping In Step with God
(Four Dreams in One Night)

I’m a night owl. I generally don’t go to bed until at least 6 AM…sometimes later. On the night of 11/27/2021, I actually went to bed at 10:30 PM, way earlier, even, than I usually try for on a Saturday night.

As usual, I woke up about every two hours, with about 15 minutes of awake-time between my sleep times. The four dreams (each of which I termed later, “…an exercise in confusion…”) that occurred on that night were (approximately) timed as follows:


#1 (between 10:30 PM & 12:15 AM)
In this dream, I saw a number of “young people” (young adults…possibly older teens) who were gathering together for some reason, but they didn’t seem to know just why, or where it was they were supposed to go. They were struggling with that, and frustrated, and they were worried about the time. They did finally get where they were supposed to be, but things somehow still didn’t seem right. Things were “ragged,” and they still weren’t sure about everything. Then I woke up.


#2 (between 12:30 AM & 2:30 AM)
When I fell back to sleep, the second dream began. This time, the group of people was in an old-time farm setting. There were barns and fields, wagons and horses, and just a generally peaceful countryside. The people were, again, struggling with confusion. There was something that they felt they should have known to do, but somehow they couldn’t seem to get it done, which bothered them. They seemed to be familiar with what should have been happening due to their actions, yet for some reason things just didn’t seem to be coming together as they normally would have. I gathered that they were puzzled that things weren’t working, and that they were thinking things like, “We know about these things! This is crazy! Why can’t we get this done?” Then I woke up.


#3 (between 2:45 AM & 4:45 AM)
This time, the people who were gathered, were in some sort of hallways (possibly in an apartment building). I felt that they were accustomed to going to (and through) their own doorways. Yet they couldn’t seem to get to and go through their own doorways at the right times (or timings). They kept ending up in other places in the hallways, and (as with the first two dreams) there was a mass struggle going on. They were discussing the problem, asking, “Why can’t I find my way to my own door?! What’s going on here?” Then I woke up.


#4 (between 5:00 AM & 6:50 AM)
As this dream began, I couldn’t identify any particular “place” or “time.” It was just a TANGLE. All I knew, was that nobody could seem to find the way to or from ANYWHERE! They were simply confused, and they were thinking, “This is not something/somewhere that should be strange! We should be able to do these things. These are things we’ve always done and places we’ve always gone!” Then I woke up.


When I looked at the clock and saw that it was time to get up to go to church (usually my husband has to wake me up at 7:00 AM, so that we can leave the house by 7:30 AM), I started to get up and go through my usual Sunday-morning-go-to-church routine.

Then the Lord said, “This is about my timing. This is about what I’m trying to do right now, in our world.” (Note that He said, “OUR world,” not “YOUR world.”)

As I sat, then, for a few minutes, and thought about all of this, I realized, “We have people from all walks of life. We have people who are old. We have people who are young. We have people who are in between. We have babies (both physical and spiritual) being born every day. We have people dying every day. We have people from different denominations. We have people who are of different faiths. We have people who haven’t even known the Lord yet. We have people who are just now coming to the Lord (very quickly, in these days). We have people who are just not quite sure where they are going–much less where the whole world is going.

As I got ready for church, and as we drove into town, and during the short time I joined in prayer before church, I felt I needed to share the dreams with our pastor and the congregation, but I wasn’t sure how all of the above was going to come together. Still, I told the pastor that I had something to share, and that it was about four dreams that I had just had during the night, and it was about God’s timing. That much I knew for sure. I didn’t tell him the dreams…just that there were four of them, and that it was evident to me that it was important to tell the congregation.

He agreed, and said that he would tag me if/when it seemed the right time for the Word of Knowledge to be spoken.

When the service began, we had a very sweet time of worship in song. As it was just ending, I got it…it all came together…just in time for the pastor to call me forward and hand me a live mic. Talk about TIMING! 😉

Here’s how Holy Spirit told me to END the (above) “tale of the dreams,” after dwelling in that beautiful time of worship.


God’s Timing is Like Dancing with Him
We have time signatures for music. For instance, we have a “two-step,” when we dance to a 1-2, 1-2 beat. We have a waltz, which is a 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3 beat. With a 1-2-3-4 beat, we have the four-step, a fox-trot, and many other dances. We also have different types of music that bring different moods and different movements. What God said to me, though, just a few moments before I went to the front and began to speak, was,

“Tell the people that I want them to learn how to stand on my feet and dance with me, just like when they were children and danced on their own daddy’s feet. Let me do the walking. Let me do the dancing. Let me lead, every step of the way. Just stand on my feet. I’m big enough. I can carry all of you at one time, and I will.”

That’s what God wants of us at this time (as in all times, but this is the one in which we are living, and one which has thrown many into great confusion). He wants us not to just come into unity among ourselves, but he wants us to step with Him, and become a part of His perfect timing. Let Him do it. He has given us the opportunity to let Him lead us in this dance. Let’s learn to follow.


The pastor followed up with a few words in agreement, that we NEED to be stepping in time with God’s timing, not asking Him to get in step with ours. Hallelujah, and Praise the Lord!

Please keep in mind that I had no time before heading out the door for church (we leave home at 7:30 AM) to write anything down. So my presentation of the dreams was very extemporaneous, which rarely happens with me.

I highly felt the need TO present the experience to the congregation, however, so I asked the pastor ahead of time what he thought, and also told him that if he didn’t feel it would fit, not to worry about it. I would go to the front if he called me, and if he didn’t, the Lord would possibly work it out for another time.

Thus, some of what you will hear in the verbal presentation will differ slightly from what I’ve written above. Writing is always more of an exact thing for me, which is why I rarely speak a vision or a dream without writing it first. You will find that everything “jives.” It’s just not EXACTLY the same in form or sentence structure.

Addendum…

After church was over and we were all hanging around just talking and enjoying ourselves, it occurred to me that I had missed an important time signature. It’s a hard one for most people, so it’s not used a whole lot. My daughter Judi, however (and my grandson Harry) really enjoy messing about with it.

That time signature is 5/4 (five beats to a measure, and a quarter note gets one beat). You would count it with a steady, “1-2-3-4-5; 1-2-3-4-5; 1-2-3-4-5.”

I explained about it to several people, who had no idea what either the number 4 or the number 5 would denote, biblically. In case anyone’s interested, here is that information:

5 = the goodness and grace of God

4 = the fourfold division of humanity representing all of creation, and/or the “four corners” therefore the complete boundaries) of the earth

This shows us that God’s grace and mercy can be relied upon, over all of God’s creation in and on the Earth (5-over-4).

Although music written in 5/4 is fascinating, people don’t normally walk, march, or dance to 5/4 music.

That’s a really good reason to stand on God’s feet and let HIM do the walking, marching, and dancing, as we glide along WITH Him, allowing the things of Heaven to occur on Earth, according to the way Jesus instructed the disciples.

Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV)…

9) In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10) Your kingdom come. your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.

11) Give us this day our daily bread,

12) forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,

13) and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory–forever. Amen


Additionally, Holy Spirit has just been showing me some interesting qualities to 5/4, as well…

5/4 × 4/5 = 20/20 = 1 (5 divided by 4 times 4 divided by 5 = 20 divided by 20 = 1)

So when you multiply God’s Grace x mankind, you get 20, as well as when you multiply mankind by God’s Grace.

So…what does the number 20 generally mean in the Bible?

Basically, it means: “Twenty (20), which is one more than nineteen, is twice ten and can, at times, mean a complete or perfect waiting period.” There’s a lot more to it, though, if you would like to read about it at the above-linked website.

When you solve the answer to the 5/4 * 4/5 = 20/20 equation, you come up with the number 1, which is the number of complete unity, which is also explained throughout the New Testament by God’s Grace toward mankind.

Ephesians 1:7-10 (NKJV)…

7) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace,

8) which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

9) having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

10) that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ–both which are in Heaven and which are on Earth–in Him.


Then there’s the fact that 20/20 vision is considered perfect.


Also, if a song in 5/4 had just four measures, you could do a short 4/4 dance, by making use of the 20 beats as if they were 5 measures of 4 beats each.

The 40 beats of a 5/4 song with 8 measures could be danced to as 10 measures of 4/4 time.

Fascinating!



Here’s a VERY fascinating and informative YouTube video on the subject of the 5/4 time signature, and others that can be used in the same manner. You may note, if you watch and listen to the entire video (which is extremely-well-done), that many of the songs that use this signature are used for quite “dark” situational music. Others denote (pun intended) some anxiety.

This, to me, only accentuates the fact that if we “dance with God” in a 5/4 setting, we are purposely submitting ourselves to GOD’S EVENT-DRIVEN CALENDAR, versus OUR PURPOSELY MARCHING-RHYTHM, EARTHLY CALENDAR.
