Because I remember your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, Father God, I will walk safely in life, and you will keep my feet from stumbling. When I lie down to sleep, I will not be startled by sudden terrors, nor of any trouble that comes from the wickedness in the world, because you are my confidence, and you keep my feet from being caught in any traps.
I will not keep good from those to whom it is due, when it is in my power to offer it. I will not say to anyone, “Go away and come back tomorrow,” if I have the good things at hand to give.
I will not plan evil things against other people, because I don’t want to run out from underneath your safety. Therefore, I will not fight with anyone without a cause, or if he has done me no harm. I will also not be envious of those who oppress other people, and I will not choose to walk in those ways myself, because perverseness is an abomination to you, Lord. Your secret counsel, on the other hand, is with those who are walking with Jesus as Lord.
I understand that the curse of the Lord is already on the house of the wicked, but that you are already blessing the home of those who have partaken of the justification that is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Surely, Lord, you scorn the scornful, but your grace is issued to those who believe. Because of this, as a believer, walking in grace, truth, and faith, I understand that I am living as a receiver of your glory, though those who foolishly choose not to believe, are, by their own choice, receiving shame as their legacy.
Help me, Lord, to remember these things, to keep them in the forefront of my days, and to walk in life by them, in Jesus’ name.
Amen
