Father, I will not forget your commandments that were written on my heart when I believed in and accepted Jesus as my Lord and King. I understand that, due to that acceptance, you have promised me a long life of peace.

I will not forsake your grace, mercy, and truth. Instead, I will keep them continually in both my mind and my heart, because in so doing, I will walk in favor and high esteem–both in your sight and in the sight of mankind.

I will trust in you, Lord, with all my heart–leaning not to my human understanding. I will acknowledge you in all my ways, so that you can safely direct my paths in this life.

I will not consider myself to be wiser than you. I respect you fully, Lord, and I will keep myself away from evilness around me here on Earth, because in so doing, I understand that you will keep me strong and healthy, even to the very marrow of my bones.

I will honor you, Lord, with my possessions and with the “first fruits” of any increase with which you bless me, because I know that you will fill my household to overflowing, while meeting our needs in every way.

I will not hate your chastening or correction, because I know that you correct those you love, just as our earthly fathers correct their beloved children.

I understand that by seeking your wisdom and understanding, I will be able to rejoice, because the proceeds of those are far better than from silver, gold, or even rubies. There is nothing that I could want that can compare with the wisdom and understanding that comes from you.

Because I seek your wisdom and understanding, I shall receive riches, honor, and pleasant pathways in a life of peace. Because of them, I will have direct access to your tree of life, and because I keep them always in my heart, I will be happy and joyful.

I will remember, Lord, that by your wisdom, you founded Earth, and you established all of the heavens. By your knowledge, you broke up the waters of the great seas, and you sent us rain from the clouds.

Because I remember them, I will not let either your wisdom or your knowledge depart from my heart. I will keep sound wisdom, and I will be discrete, because these things will continually give life to my soul and to even my outward appearance.

Amen
