Psalm 24 (NKJV–Bible Gateway)
(Acknowledging The King of Glory and His Kingdom)
* * * * * * * * * * * *
1) The Earth (the world in all its fullness, and all those who dwell in it) is yours, Lord,
2) For you have founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
3) Who may ascend into your hill, Lord, or who may stand in your holy place?
4) [It is] he who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, and has not sworn deceitfully,
5) who shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6) This is like “Jacob”–like generations of those who seek your face, Lord. I will think on these things.*
* Verses 4-6 would refer to one who is born again, in the New Testament. They are written, in this prayer, to be spoken directly to the Lord Jesus Christ.
7) I lift my head, becoming a gateway for you, Lord.
8) You are my Lord of Glory–strong and mighty in battle.
9) I lift my head, becoming a doorway for you, Lord.
(inserted from Matthew 6:33-34)
In other words, I will seek first your kingdom, Lord, and your righteousness, and I will not worry about tomorrow, for I know that tomorrow will worry about its own things.
10) You are my King of Glory–the Lord of Hosts. I will think on these things.
Amen
