I would encourage you to read Psalm 71 in its entirety, before speaking this prayer. Over the next few weeks, we’ll use the remainder of this Psalm for a progression of additional prayers.

Father God, I thank you that you are my strong refuge, regardless of any earthly status I may have attained or lost. You created me as your child, and you honor your promises to me. Therefore, I will speak of your praise and your glory–all day, every day, forever.
I know that you will not leave me when I become physically old, and you will not forsake me when my physical or mental strengths fail. If others lie about me or even seek to kill me, I know that you are not far from me, and that you are always available to help me. When necessary, you will confront my adversaries, and bring reproach and dishonor to any who seek to harm me. I will receive hope from you continually. Therefore, I will walk in your strength, speaking of your righteousness and your salvation–all day, every day, forever.
Amen!
