PSALM 91 (NKJV–Bible Gateway)
(New Testament Confession of God’s Protection)
* * * * * * * * * * * *
Because I dwell in the secret place of the Most High, I shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Lord, you are my refuge and my fortress. You are my God, and in you I trust.
Surely you will deliver me from the snares set for me by the devil and his minions, and from any harmful or deadly things he can throw at me.
I know you are covering me, as a mother bird would cover her little ones, and under your wings of protection, I take my refuge.
Your truth is both a small and a large shield to me, and I will not be afraid of any terrors by night, any weapons that come at me at any time of day, any pestilence that might attack me from dark places, or any destruction that might be waiting to kill me even at mid-day.
You have promised me that I will be able to see large numbers of my enemies fall–even before they can actually attack me. You’ve said that I will see them fall, and know that you have stopped them with your mighty hand. They will receive the reward of the wicked.
Because I have made you my Lord and my refuge, and my dwelling place is the Most High, no evil will be able to overcome me, and no sickness will overcome my earthly dwelling place.
You have given your angels charge over me, Lord, to help me keep all your ways. In their hands, they bear me up, even to keep me from stubbing my toes.
I am protected from even things like lions and cobras (either the animals or dark spirits that attack like they do). I will be able to defeat even the young, strong ones that want to defeat me.
I have set myself to love you, Lord. Therefore, I know you will deliver me. You will set me higher than any enemies, because I have loved you, and because you have given me your own name to use against the darkness.
I will call upon the name of Jesus, and will receive the answers I need. You will be with me in times of trouble, and you will deliver me and honor your promises to me.
With long life, you will satisfy me, and thus display the salvation you have given me, since I have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, and because I therefore dwell in the secret place of the Most High.
Hallelujah and Amen!
