1-3) I recognize you, Father God, as the Lord of Zion, because you have given me citizenship–through the blood of Jesus—adopting me into your great city and onto your beautiful, high mountain–which is the “joy of the whole earth”–because in the halls of your own home, you have given me refuge.
4-7) Long ago many kings of the land assembled at Mt. Zion [as potential conquerors], and as they gathered, they marveled—becoming so afraid of your obvious and great power, that they quickly left again, in fear for their lives.
(8) It is obvious, O Lord of Hosts, even today, that you have established your dwelling place forever.
(9) Thank you, Father God, for your loving kindness in the middle of your temple, which is now within your people.
(10) According to your great name, Lord, I will praise you forever.
(11) Your Right Hand is full of righteousness, and as your child, I rejoice, and I praise you for your judgments.
(12) I will walk with you everywhere I go, knowing (because of the stories of your greatness that I find in your Word) that your bountiful provision and your strong protection are all around me.
13) I will remember that you have protected your people from generation to generation, and I will tell about your glory into future generations as well, from my own experiences, as well as from your Word.
(14) You are the great I AM, O Lord. You are my God and my Savior, forever. I trust you to be my Guide, as long as I live—here on Earth, even as it will be in Heaven.
Amen
